The Northwest Animal Rights Network demands the following:

The University of Washington has constantly made claims that they have a commitment to better conditions for their animals. This is hardly the case. Lengthy documentation has been provided to prove Kelley's commitments are not towards the animals' welfare, rather his own. We demand that Kelley be removed from his position at the UW.

Visits to the research facilities are few and far between. On top of that, they are announced, giving the facility ample time to "raise the bar" to meet the requirements before the actual visit. Although tax payers keep the facility open and the vivisectors well paid, we are not allowed to see the work they do. We demand that a member of the media, NARN and an independent animal technician be allowed to make an unanounced visit and be granted access to all areas of the facility.

The University of Washington has always defended their use of animals as "necessary." However, the public, animal rights activists, doctors, and medical experts have disagreed. We are challenging the UW's vivisectors to a debate on the UW campus in front of its students, colleagues, media and the public.

"Nothing to hide? Let us inside!"
